Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada To The Honourable Martin Cauchon On January 23, 2002, shortly after you took your present portfolio, a story was aired on CBC's fifth estate which was an update of a show that had been aired one year earlier. "The Scandal of the Century" won the Justicia award which is co-sponsored by Federal Justice < http://canada.justice.gc.ca/en/news/nr/2001/doc_27520.html > The accuracy is not in dispute. If you have not viewed this show, both the first airing and the second which has almost half new material, I would strongly suggest that you take some time from your busy schedule to have a look. We believe that the crimes which have been committed in the course of investigating and prosecuting and now covering up this case are egregious enough to have Federal Justice step in. Those of us who have brought the case to public attention are living in an injustice war zone where legal technicalities and unjustified publication bans make our lives almost intolerable. The current difficulties surround a major civil claim which was launched in January, 1994 and which was stalled until November, 2001. Richard Klassen, one of the main litigants in the lawsuit finally got into his own hands material which contains clear evidence of the crimes we alleged for years on the internet and some which we didn't even know about. The defendants in the lawsuit are all public officials and they are claiming that because the new information came to him through civil discovery that they fall under court rules which say they cannot be made public. We contend that most of this material should have been disclosed in the course of the original prosecution and that it in no way should remain secret, particularly since it contains evidence that two eight year old girls were sexually brutalized for 43 months before, during and after the prosecution was going on. We think that the civil proceedings should be halted right now and a full public federal evidentiary hearing be convened. We have been calling for a public inquiry for eight years.
